Maciej Zielinski studied composition at the Warsaw Academy of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London. His activities as a composer have included writing music for films, music for theatre, music for television productions and commercials.

He has written the music for several Polish blockbusters which was seen in cinemas by more than 8 million people. The soundtracks from the movies became the best selling albums in Poland. His most recent success includes music for TV series Criminal department (4 Telekamery Awards) and Shades of Happiness (1 Telekamery Awards) which are now one of the most popular TV series in Poland.

As a composer, arranger, and music producer, Zieli!ski is highly sought after by musicians, record companies, and television and radio stations. His song Who Knows? from the movie A Very Christmas Story is now one of the most recognizable Polish Christmas songs. At the end of 2008
it even went at the top of Hungarian Top Charts too – sang by Barbee. His another song – Tango de Amor became very popular radio hit and recently it got worldwide distribution by the German Label Clubstar. 
?Since 1990 he has written the music in a few hundred commercials being awarded the Kreatura 2000 Award for the best music for a television commercial (Procter&Gamble Warner) and Tytan Award.
He also writes contemporary music. In 2000 his composition Lutos!awski in memoriam has been included by the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in their syllabus. In 2003 the album including his I String Quartet was awarded Fryderyk 2002 – the Polish Music Industry’s Award
