Baasch is the artistic alias of Bartosz Schmidt – a singer, producer, songwriter and composer, and one of the most distinctive voices on the Polish electronic music scene. Moving between atmospheric synth-pop, club energy and cinematic sound design, he creates music defined by luminous melodies, dark textures and his unmistakable vocal tone.
His Polish-language album Noc earned him a Fryderyk Award, while his score for Oskar Sadowski’s theatrical production Balladyna. Echa Grobowych Rozwalin received a Fryderyk nomination. Baasch also composes for film and theatre and has collaborated with artists including Catz ’n Dogz, BOKKA, Rysy, A_GIM, Zamilska, Mary Komasa and Paulina Przybysz.
He has performed at leading festivals in Poland and across Europe, including Open’er, Audioriver, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Sziget and Reeperbahn. On stage, Baasch performs with a long-standing live band, combining electronic production with the intensity and spontaneity of a concert performance.
