The Sweet Vandals is a soul and funk band known for their raw, authentic sound and high-energy performances. Formed out of a shared passion for classic funk, the group quickly gained attention with their debut single “I Got You, Man!” (Funkorama Records), which became an underground favorite.
Their music is deeply rooted in the traditions of artists like James Brown, Ann Sexton, and Sharon Jones, but the Vandals bring their own modern edge. The band’s recordings are fully analog, produced with vintage equipment at Fusion3 Studios in Madrid, giving their sound a timeless, organic feel.
At the center of the group is vocalist Mayka Edjole, whose powerful, soulful voice has become the band’s signature. Backed by tight rhythms, deep grooves, and a gritty Hammond organ, The Sweet Vandals deliver funk and soul with no frills – just heart and groove.
